Just six weeks from Sunday, the second annual Canadian Breast Canadian Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure will take place at the Kortright Centre in Vaughan.
Run director Julia Suppa was thrilled with last year’s event that drew 1,200 people and raised more than $200,000 for the cause.
“We’re striving for celebrating our survivors. Kids are welcome, dogs are welcome, strollers are welcome,” said Suppa.
She emphasizes that the “run” area is more suitable for walking and said it is very family-friendly.
“We’re hoping it’s a nicer day, but we did raise over $200,000 last year in the rain,” said Suppa. She said volunteers are needed to help out on the day of the event.
