Fair provides information, resources for York Region individuals with disabilities

More than 50 public and private organizations that specialize in programs, services and equipment for children, youth and young adults with disabilities and developmental needs will be at the upcoming York Region Inclusive Information Fair.

On Sept. 23 from 12 to 3 p.m., visit Langstaff Community Centre, 55 Red Maple Rd., Richmond Hill, for a “one-stop shop” of information and resources for funding, private therapy services, transition to school and adult services, recreation programs, respite and community support for families.

Organized by Children’s Treatment Network (CTN) and the City of Richmond Hill, the event is free to the public and no registration is required.

Attendees can look forward to:

• Learning about inclusive recreation, adapted sports, music and dance programs for children and youth.
• Connecting with more than 50 public and private vendors and community organizations.
• Checking out the cool sensory room, if children and youth need a break.
• Spending time in the "Parent Networking Room," where parents and caregivers can enjoy refreshments and talk.
• Discovering CTN’s Equipment Loan Program, to learn about borrowing therapeutic and recreation equipment.
• Gaining advice and tips for financial planning.
