As of April 11, Vaughan is hoping it will be easier for you to accommodate guests’ cars at your home.

The city is confident its visitor parking program will give residents more flexibility, and enable them to get parking permits for guests faster.

The new process is entirely electronic. The system will: grant a permit instantly, remove the need to print or display a permit in your car and make it easier for enforcement officers to check whether a vehicle has permission to park. Guidelines have changed to allow for more consecutive parking days. The limit will go from five days to 10 days in a row, for a maximum of 60 days a year. To maintain the new program, there is a $7 charge per permit.

To use the new service, residents can create an account at vaughan.ca/parking. Valid visitor parking permits allow your guests to park on the street at any time, but does not exempt them from other parking violations.

Visitor, construction and monthly parking permits can still be picked-up in person at Vaughan City Hall or over the phone at 905-832-2281, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
