A Vaughan machining and advanced manufacturing firm scored up to $1.3 million in provincial funding to invest in new technology and expand its workforce.

Dishon Limited, which specializes in complex machine components for the aviation, aerospace and power generation sectors, landed the funding through Ontario’s jobs and prosperity fund to invest in “state-of-the-art” milling machines, specialized training and facility upgrades, according to the news release.

The company also expects to create 54 new jobs at its facility on Citation Drive. The majority of those positions will be for engineers, programmers and machinists, according to the news release.

The government funding is a fraction of the overall $13.8 million price tag for acquiring the new technology and expanding the workforce, which is expected to be completed by late the fall of 2022.
