A Woodbridge manufacturing firm has landed a $1.5 million provincial grant to upgrade machinery and invest in automation.
Vision Extrusion Group, founded by billionaire businessman Vic De Zen, garnered the funding through Ontario's jobs and prosperity fund, according to an April 13 government news release.
The money is part of an $18.2 million investment that will reportedly create 76 new jobs and retain more than 500 positions in Vaughan.
Vision Extrusion produces a range of extruded-plastic building products such as window frames, doors, fencing and railings.
It is expected by investing in machinery upgrades and new automation technologies, the firm will enhance its efficiency and productivity, allowing it to continue to compete in the global market.
