Vaughan 6-figure salary club jumps by 21% in 2017 over 2016

The City of Vaughan’s six-figure club ballooned to 435 members from 359 in 2017 an increase of 21 per cent in one year.
The province released its annual Sunshine List recently, revealing tens of thousands of government employees across the province who earned at least $100,000 in 2017.
City manager Daniel Kostopoulos was the top earner in Vaughan, taking in $285,861.80.
He was joined in the $200,000 club by city solicitor Claudia Storto, who was paid $219,325.65, deputy city manager of public works Stephen Collins, who earned $209,034.11 and Mary Reali-Scarcello, the deputy city manager of recreation, who took home $207,895.84.
Others high on the list of earners in the city included departing fire chief Larry Bentley, due to retire May 31, who was paid $189,788.89, Demetre Rigakos, chief human resources officer, who earned $189,788.49 and John MacKenzie, the now-departed deputy city manager of planning, who has now gone on become the chief executive officer of the Toronto Region Conservation Authority. Mackenzie made $185,093.36 in 2017.
Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua was paid $183,189.72 by the city in 2017.
