Parking spaces being added at Aurora, East Gwillimbury GO stations

Construction of new spaces expected to start in spring, be completed by end of 2018

You might have an easier time finding a parking spot at the Aurora and East Gwillimbury GO stations by the end of this year.

The provincial government announced March 16 it is adding nearly 550 new parking spaces at the two stations - 69 in Aurora and 480 in East Gwillimbury.

Construction work is slated to begin this spring and is expected to be completed by end of the year.

"These improvements will benefit our entire community and help us meet the growing demand for transit. I'm thrilled that the concerns of local residents regarding parking availability in Aurora have been acted upon," Newmarket-Aurora MPP Chris Ballard said in a news release.
