Vaughan Fire and Rescue had to go literally next door to put out an industrial fire in Woodbridge this morning.
The service was alerted to the fire by a worker who walked to the station metres away from his business to tell them there was an odour coming from Routes Car and Truck Rentals at 7070 Martin Grove Rd., just off Hwy. 7
Firefighters sprung into action, noticing a light haze of smoke, and used a thermal imaging camera to see a hot spot on the wall, said Deputy Fire Chief Deryn Rizzi.
Just after there were flames through the roof. More crews came on the scene and the fire was put under control within an hour of crews being alerted at 8:29 a.m., Rizzi said.
Nobody was physically injured. The fire started in the heating system, Rizzi said.
