Just in time for the holidays, the City of Vaughan hosted their annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 1st for all members of the community. That night, many gathered anxiously around Civic Square at City Hall for the ceremony. Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council took their time in speaking to the public with their official welcoming speeches. Once the tree was lit, guests were free to indulge in a few holiday treats that were being served, snap a photo with Santa Claus himself and enjoy some live, festive, music. In the spirit of giving, donations of new, unwrapped toys for children, ages newborn to 18, were welcomed for the annual City of Vaughan Toy Drive in support of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish. The 2017 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony was such a success this year, just as it has been every year prior. The City of Vaughan is looking forward to what will be in store for next Christmas.
