Georgina, Markham, Vaughan facilities slapped with health violations
Unclean floors, ceilings cited

York Region’s public health inspectors issued violations under the province’s Health Protection and Promotion Act at a number of local establishments the week of Aug. 4.

The following incidents were reported:

Georgina: Pipe and Slipper, 2926 Old Homestead Rd., for operating food premises not maintained to permit cleaning of ceilings and for rinsing its large utensils with a chemical solution at less than double the regulated strength.

Markham: Fishman Wharf Seafood Restaurant, 4080 Steeles Ave. E., for failing to ensure floors in the food handling area were clean.

Vaughan: Four Elms Retirement Residence, 1500 Steeles Ave. W., for storing hazardous foods at internal temperature considered unsafe.

The food premises disclosure system provides the public access to information relating to charges laid and closures made by York Region community and health services public health inspectors.

Health inspection results are available for food establishments, recreational water facilities, salons and spas in York Region.
