Pioneer Park Officially Opens

Vaughan Council celebrated the official opening of Pioneer Park with the community on June 4th. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, refreshments and entertainment. Pioneer Park is at 105 Valley Vista Dr., south of Major Mackenzie Drive and west of Bathurst Street in Ward 4.

Design elements of Pioneer Park - which were influenced by feedback from the community - facilitate safe and universally accessible play, and provide residents with comfortable seating and protection from the elements. The pedestrian pathway is lined with a number of broad leaf canopy trees to offer shade.

“The design and amenities of Pioneer Park exemplify the City of Vaughan’s commitment to accessibility, sustainability and active living. This greenspace will help foster a strong, vibrant community in Vaughan for years to come," said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua.
