The Pan Am torch will come through Stouffville next summer.
Council approved the recommendation by town staff Tuesday afternoon, with no discussion.
It is anticipated to cost the town around $4,600 to do so.
The Olympic torch came to Whitchurch-Stouffville in 1988 and 2009.
The Pan Am Games run from July 10 to 26 and will bring with them 10,000 athletes/coaches/officials, to more than 30 venues across 16 GTA municipalities.
The torch relay is expected to take 41 days, starting May 30 at the Temple of the Sun God, outside of Mexico City.
It will travel more than 5,000 km on the road and another 15,000 km in the air.
There will be more than 3,000 torchbearers going through more than 130 communities, according to the council report.
