Mayor’s name going on new Stouffville skate park

Wayne Emmerson will always be remembered for spearheading construction of Stouffville’s new skateboard park.

Town council voted unanimously yesterday name the park, located in Memorial Park at Park and Hoover Park drives, after the mayor.

Emmerson, who is retiring this fall, also hosted a charity dinner to help pay for the $465,000 project.

The facility, which also includes basketball courts, officially opened last month.
