York regional police are investigating after anti-Semitic graffiti was found sprayed on a bus shelter in Thornhill.

The shelter is located at Atkinson Avenue and Spring Gate Boulevard, near Bathurst Street.

Police said they received several calls about it.

A swastika and the words “F**k Israel” were spray-painted on the shelter.

A sergeant at the scene said they are treating it as a mischief investigation for now, and that they will be notifying the police’s hate crime unit.

The graffiti was changed later Wednesday to read “I f**kin’ love Israel.”

This is the second incident of hateful vandalism in the area this week.

On Sunday night, the sidewalk in front of the Ja’ffari Community Centre at 9000 Bathurst St., near Rutherford Road, was spray-painted with the words “Arab go home” and “F**k Gaza.”

A spray-painted Star of David remains on the sign of the centre, and a spray paint cap was found at the scene.

City of Vaughan crews are standing by to clean up the graffiti at the bus shelter; however, they are waiting for police to photograph it first.

There’s no word on suspects in either cases.
