Oct. 2. That is the date candidates running for mayor and councillor will be able to start lining lawns and roadways with their “vote for me” campaign signs within the municipality.

Candidates can, however, start putting up their signs on York region intersections as of Sept. 15.

Campaign signs are only permitted at regional road intersections.

Signs within the municipality are permitted on residential lawns and highways, but not on or within any other public property, according to the bylaw.

The municipal election takes place Oct. 27.
