Health inspectors charge Markham, Vaughan restaurants with violations

York Region’s public health inspectors issued charges under the province’s Health Protection and Promotion Act at three south-end establishments last week.
The following incidents were reported:
- Me Va Me on Bathurst Street in Vaughan was cited July 7 for failing to protect food from contamination or adulteration;
- Miu Garden on Steeles Avenue East in Markham was written up July 8 for failing to keep the floor of its food-handling room clean; and
- New Markham Villa Chinese on Old Kennedy Road in Markham was a ticketed July 10 for failing to keep the floor of its food-handling room clean.
The food premises disclosure system provides the public access to information relating to charges laid and closures made by York Region community and health services public health inspectors.
Health inspection results are available for food establishments, recreational water facilities, salons and spas in York Region.
