Will Thornhill basketball sensation Andrew Wiggins play alongside superstar LeBron James or will he find himself traded to Minnesota?

That’s the big question surrounding the 19-year-old former Vaughan Voyageurs star now that James has announced his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who picked Wiggins first overall in last month’s NBA draft.

James told Sports Illustrated in an article posted online today that he’s “coming home” to re-join his former club.

James left Cleveland four years ago to join the Miami Heat alongside former Toronto Raptors star Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade.

Together, the three were dominant, making it to the NBA finals four times and winning two titles. But after losing to the San Antonio Spurs in this year’s final, all three opted out of their deals with the Heat.

Rumors that the Cavs were making a play to bring James back into the fold have been circulating for weeks now.

Things really heated up Wednesday when they made key moves to free up enough salary-cap space to offer him a maximum contract.

Now, speculation is flying that the Cavs are looking to acquire All-star forward Kevin Love from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Several NBA pundits have suggested Minnesota would demand 19-year-old Wiggins as part of any deal involving Love.

Twitter also lit up with speculation about what could happen with Wiggins.

Globe and Mail national correspondent David Ebner wrote: “Wiggins of course silent. Trade feels... likely(ish)."

The Score, meanwhile, tweeted: “Kevin Love is reportedly 'intrigued' by Cavaliers deal, might involve Andrew Wiggins.”

Ken Berger, from CBS Sports, tweeted: “As the LeBron after-effects crank up, word among multiple team execs is No. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins will be in play in Kevin Love trade.”

Wiggins' fellow Canadian teammates Anthony Bennett and Tristan Thompson could also be on the trading block in exchange for Love, reports say.
