A seasoned municipal veteran is jumping into Muskoka Lakes.
Council recently appointed Clayton Harris as interim CAO following the resignation of Chris Wray in April of this year.
According to a Township of Muskoka Lakes press statement dated July 7, the same day Harris was set to start, he brings several years of senior management experience in both the private and public sectors, most recently as city manager for the City of Vaughan.
According to a Vaughan Citizen article dated April 10, 2013 announcing Harris’ retirement from the City of Vaughan, he worked for the city for 21 years starting as commissioner of finance before becoming deputy city manager in 2007 and city manager in 2009.
“We welcome Clayton to the Township of Muskoka Lakes and look forward to benefiting from his extensive background and experience in providing leadership to the township until the position is filled on a permanent basis early in the new year,” Mayor Alice Murphy stated in the release. “His guidance to ensure continuity of services and maintenance of council’s vision and direction will be invaluable.”
