As a way to reward volunteers for their persistent efforts in the community, and to celebrate National Volunteers week, Alternatives hosted their 3rd Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on April 24th. Volunteers, family, friends and staff of Alternatives joined together to celebrate what turned out to be a superb afternoon. The staff thanked all of those who have graciously offered their support to ensure that Alternatives’ mission is met—which is assisting “adults with developmental disabilities to integrate meaningfully within their communities by providing both life and job-skills training and experience.” With the help of their volunteers, Alternatives has continued their efforts to create programs that successfully adapt “to each individual's needs and abilities, and provides opportunity to develop a full range of personal, social and vocational skills.” For additional details regarding Alternatives and the programs offered, you may visit http://www.creatingalternatives.ca/index.html.
