Vaughan of Versailles Mansion Slashes Its Price, Now $16.9M

Vaughan's most expensive and talked about megamansion has finally dropped its price after years on the market. The Versailles-inspired property at 90 Rocmary Pl. was originally listed for $17.8 million before slashing its price to $16.95 million. The 24,000 square foot property made international headlines after the owners, co-founders of the Toronto College of Dental Hygiene, revealed they spent five years building the house to host their dream "Versailles" wedding. The couple had fallen in love with the Palace of Versailles and designed their home to replicate the French chateau. The couple shared their wedding kiss on the balcony (guests were dressed in eighteenth century Venetian costumes, for some reason), and months later the ornate house was put on the market.

The gold-plated "Versailles of Vaughan" property has six-bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, three kitchens, parking for 30 cars and an indoor swimming pool. The monster house also features one of the city's best man caves - a heated Ferrari room equipped with mirrors and a mural of a race track. The house is being sold completely furnished and perhaps the ornate decor and elaborate sculptures are scaring off the buyers. A neighbouring property also on the market at 40 Rocmary Pl. recently dropped their price tag to $4.5 million. Is this palace really worth the almost $17 million asking price?
