York Regional Police has expanded its online reporting system to allow you to report community-oriented complaints.

Now, yrp.ca is easier for you to report such incidents as ongoing traffic violations a intersections, inappropriate activities in public plazas or parks, graffiti at schools or anything thing else that affects enjoyment in your community, police said.

To report incidents, you will need to include your name and address, gender and date of birth, as well as your phone number and email address.

Once your information has been submitted, it will be reviewed by a police officer to ensure the complaint meets their criteria and to check to see if a file is already open for the same complaint.

If there already a complaint, your information will be added.

If your complaint is new to the police, a file will be opened and you will be given a file number.

You will be told of any progress within 15 days.

If your report does not meet criteria, you will be notified.

Police remind you that it is a criminal offence to file a false report.
