A ceremony was held last month to recognize Vaughan aquatic staff who captured 28 medals at the 2014 Ontario Lifesaving Sport Championships. For the third consecutive year, the Vaughan Masters teams retained the title of Provincial Champions. The Canadian Lifesaving Society is the governing body for the sport of lifesaving and organizes annual championships based on the skills needed for real world rescues. Competition events included a mannequin tow, obstacle swim, line throw and tow with fins.
