Shoppers at Vaughan Mills were treated to a special event as The City of Vaughan presented the 2014 Vaughan Safety Expo. The event was intended to provide the citizens of Vaughan with information from a number of organizations that are dedicated to keeping the community safe. The City was represented by Parks and Forestry, Emergency Planning, and Bylaw and Compliance teams. As well, Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service, York Regional Police, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, BOATsmart!, and the Red Cross were all also on hand to help advise and disperse information to residents. Additionally, the City also took the opportunity to hand out white spruce seedlings to any attendees who signed up for the City’s e-newsletter. The saplings were offered in recognition of the impact the December ice storm had on area trees.
