All severe thunderstorm watches and warnings for the GTA were cancelled by 9 p.m.
A line of storms moving through southern Ontario has already started weakening.

Parts of the GTA were still under a severe thunderstorm watch late Tuesday night after being downgraded from a warning. That includes northern York Region, northern Durham region, Richmond Hill, Markham, Newmarket, Vaughan, Milton, Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington and Oakville.

All warnings and watches were dropped by 9 p.m.

The City of Toronto is not included in the weather alert.

The weather agency says a line of strong thunderstorms extending from eastern Georgian Bay southwestward to central Lake Erie is moving eastward.

Powerstream reports that 1,800 customers in Richmond Hill are without power tonight. The company is investigating the cause of the outage and they expect power to be back at around 10 p.m.
