Thornhill park renamed for Holocaust survivor

In a ceremony Monday, this park's re-naming was part of the Yom Hashoah 2014 commemoration to victims of the Holocaust hosted by B'Nai Brith Canada.

Mr Opatowski, a Holocaust survivor, was recognized for overcoming personal adversities including being the lone survivor of his family in the Holocaust. Mr. Opatowski is an inspirational speaker, educator and author and has lived in Thornhill for 25 years.
