Subway Extension

Work is progressing for the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension at the York University station in Toronto, Ont.

General Contractor for the project is EllisDon Civil Ltd. and completion has been scheduled for fall 2016. The owner is Toronto Transit Commission and the station was designed by ARUP. The work includes the excavation and shoring of the scoop area to final station concourse level and the construction of the station box and relevant surface structure. The Station box will be two storeys and will then be backfilled so that only the surface station structure which is offset from the station box will be visible once works are complete.

The construction under this contract is inclusive of all relevant services such as mechanical and electrical and will see the project through to the completion of all hard and soft landscaping.

Subtrades include: Avenue Building Corporation (forming and concrete placement), Bird Mechanical; General Sprinklers; Salit Steel Ltd; Ozz Electrical; MOmetal (structural steel/decorative metals); Riverside Group (wall paneling); Vixman Construction (metal roofing); Nudorco (doors/framing); Gartner, Bilco Canada, Oakdale (tubular ceiling); Selco Elevators; and Schindler (escalators).
