Al Palladini Community Centre 25th anniversary 
Celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Al Palladini Community Centre in Woodbridge on Saturday, April 5. The official welcome will take place at 11 a.m. and there will be free activities including face painting, complimentary cake and refreshments and recreational skates and swims throughout the day.

The Al Palladini Community Centre is located at 9201 Islington Avenue in Woodbridge.

 

Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival
Celebrate the sweetness of springtime at the Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival  from now until April 6.

The festival takes place at two locations in York Region – the Kortright Centre for Conservation in Vaughan and Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area in Stouffville, just east of Markham.

The maple syrup festival attracts thousands of visitors annually to celebrate the flowing of sap and the making of pure maple syrup – a truly Canadian tradition.

Festival-goers will discover the magic of traditional and modern maple syrup production while enjoying live entertainment, maple syrup walks, samples, children’s activities, horse drawn wagon rides, a visit to the Sugarbush Shop and of course enjoy delicious pancakes with pure maple syrup. Throughout the day both locations will have family-friendly activities and entertainers including face painting, balloon artists, and magic shows.

The Kortright Centre for Conservation is open daily. Bruce’s Mill is open Wednesday to Sunday. The Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. until April 6.

The cost is $10 for adults and $6.50 for kids, students and seniors.  Children four and under are admitted free with their family and Conservation Parks Members are free.  Parking is $4 per vehicle at Kortright Conservation Centre and free at Bruce’s Mill.

The Kortright Centre for Conservation is located at  9550 Pine Valley Dr. in Vaughan.

Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area, is located at 3291 Stouffville Rd. in Stouffville.

Are you having trouble controlling the way you eat? You are not alone. Today, there is a solution.

Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous holds weekly meetings every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Woodbridge Pool and Memorial Arena, located at 5020 Highway 7 at the north west corner of Highway 7 and Islington Avenue.

There are no dues, no fees and no weigh-ins.

French Toastmasters
French Toastmasters club in Richmond Hill for fluent French speaking people. Meetings are on first and third Thursdays of the month, from 7:30 to 9 p.m..

La Madonna Della Strada di Roggiano Gravina
The celebration of La Madonna Della Strada di Roggiano Gravina will take place on Sunday, May 4 at Ardorini Missionaries, located at 200 Pine Grove Rd. in Woodbridge

The Rosary will be at 3 p.m., mass will be at 3:30 p.m. followed by a procession and reception

Special guest Padre Gianfranco Lombardi  will be in attendance. Traditional foods of Roggiano Gravina will be served and there will be a raffle.
