International Women's Day Celebration

Snapd Woodbridge and Snapd Vaughan East
April 2014

Celebrations for International Women's Day came early at the very first International Women's Day event at Vaughan City Hall.

The event was organized by Elspeth Heyworth Centre for Women and in partnership with the City of Vaughan. Many residents of the community came out to show their support alongside friends, family, staff and local businesses.

Everyone was in a fantastic mood as they got the chance to chat with their peers and enjoy a complimentary lunch on behalf of the event organizers. In the true spirit of International Women’s Day, it was nice to see a room full of ambitious and successful women making a difference in the community.

Elspeth Heyworth Centre for Women is an organization dedicated to empowering women who are new to Canada, both seniors and families, by promoting healthy relationships within the community and financial security.

At Elspeth Heyworth Centre for Women, they offer members a number of programs and services including settlement and employment services, anti-violence and senior services, continuing education and youth programs, community festivals and gardens, food, clothing and yoga classes.

A special thanks to the organizers of the first ever International Women's Day celebration at Vaughan City Hall for putting together a fantastic event!
