Kamal Parmar recently released a new book of poetry entitled In the Rising Mist.

The Woodbridge author has written quite a few poetry books over the years. Through her poems, she aims to open the eyes of the reader and make them reflect about life itself. Parmar’s poetry describes her past experiences, as well as the beauty of nature.

“A lot of my poems are about my past memories of India, and seeing the beauty all around us,” said Parmar.

Parmar was inspired to begin to write poetry because of her love of the genre and its ability to capture the reader’s attention, through something so simple.

In the book In the Rising Mist, nostalgia and wisdom about seasonal changes and the finer nuances of life create complex feelings and thoughts which make the volume so full of meaning.

Parmar explained every poem she has written has had a unique connection to her life.

“I cannot choose a favourite poem I have written because they are all so important and special to me,” she said.
