Residents of Vaughan celebrated the winter season at the 25th Annual WinterFest on February 9th. This year’s celebration was held at the Vellore Village Community Centre. Mayor Bevilacqua and Members of Council took the stage to thank everyone for attending this year’s event. This fun-filled event included a number of exciting activities like free outdoor stage entertainment, IceZone, Midway Zone, Video Gaming Zone, Horse Drawn Wagon Rides, Lumberjack Show, face painting, art, science and musical workshops.
Guests were also encouraged to participate in a floor curling program open to both kids and parents. YTV host, Carlos Bustamante was the emcee for the entire afternoon. Everyone gathered round for the incredible live entertainment which included performances from Canadian pop star Tyler Shaw, Harry and his Bucket Full of Dinosaurs, Entertainment, Puppet Tamer and Ventriloquist Tim Holland, and the Singing Princesses. Kids lined up to meet some of their favourite TV show charcters like Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs, The Octonauts and Peppa Pig, Star Wars Characters, Comic Book Heros and Fairytale Princesses.
Anna Olson, Host of Food Network Canada's Bake with Anna Olson also made a special guest appearance for two baking demonstrations and an autograph signing for fans that followed later on. All guests got the chance to chow down on some delicious food available in the Food Zone. The 25th WinterFest was a huge success this year and we can’t wait to see what the City of Vaughan has lined up next year!
