It may seem hard to believe after the weather this week, but sooner or later temperatures will rise, snow will melt and winter will give way to spring.
However, the looming thaw may also reveal leftover debris on your property from December’s ice storm.
Fortunately, the Region of York and its nine local-tier municipalities are prepared for the fact that more clean-up from the storm may be coming. As such, the Bloomington Yard Waste Depot, at 1351 Bloomington Rd. in Richmond Hill, is now open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for those wishing to drop off tree branches and other storm debris.
In addition, public works staff with the various municipalities will continue to collect debris from the storm as the snow melts. Once all of the fallen and severely damaged trees on regional properties are removed, crews will spend the spring and summer pruning and assessing the damage to trees.
If you have questions about curbside collection of debris or other storm clean-up activities, you are asked to contact your local municipality directly. A link to your local municipality’s website can be found here: bit.ly/1hZQsRm.
