March 26, 2014

Vaughan Public Libraries, in partnership with Kids’ CBC will be hosting a free storytime event for preschoolers in celebration of literacy this Saturday, March 29 at Pierre Berton Resource Library. Kids are invited to this special storytime session led by Kids’ CBC host Patty Sullivan and fan-favourite Bookaboo as they read some of their favourite stories together. Each child will receive a free Kids’ CBC bookmark, postcard and a friendship bracelet.

Kids will have a chance to appear on television, as the Kids’ CBC camera crew will be out and about capturing all of the fun moments from the day to be featured on-air.

Bookaboo is a Kids’ CBC series that encourages children (three to six years old) and grown-ups to share books together, with the help of the main character – a puppet named Bookaboo. Bookaboo is a world famous rock puppy who tours the globe with his band, playing drums to packed stadiums of adoring fans. However, there’s just one hitch for our rock puppy super star, he just can’t play without a story a day. Each episode sees a famous face share a picture book with Bookaboo to encourage him to go back on stage.

Limited seating is available – first come, first served. The event will take place this Saturday, March 29 at 2 p.m. at Pierre Berton Resource Library located at 4921 Rutherford Road.
