The Vaughan Business Enterprise Centre (VBEC) is relocating to Vaughan City Hall on March 28. VBEC is moving to the economic development department on the second floor in order to provide a higher level of customer support and service. VBEC has been located on the southeast corner of Major Mackenzie Drive and Keele Street in the historic Beaverbrook House since its inception in 2001.

The move to Vaughan City Hall will make it possible for the business centre to achieve the following benefits:

- A centralized site where clients can access a wide range of services, including one-on-one business consulting support, registering a new venture and obtaining a business licence

- The ability to further collaborate and strategically leverage the skills, knowledge and resources available to VBEC clients from the Economic Development department

- The creation of operational efficiencies and enhanced productivity related to a central location

- The ability to serve the growing demands of its clients as well as providing a supportive environment for the business centre as it continues to grow and adapt to the ever changing market needs and economic opportunities

“Vaughan is a centre of business excellence and is now home to more than 10,000 businesses,” said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. “We know that our continued success lies in our strong and vibrant small business community. For more than a decade the Vaughan Business Enterprise Centre has been working to meet the needs of small business owners and entrepreneurs in our city. Moving VBEC into City Hall will provide further opportunities to support and encourage our small business owners. It is their innovative spirit that brings new ideas and concepts to the marketplace and contributes to the City’s economic success.”

On an annual basis VBEC generates 872 one-on-one business consultation sessions, new and repeat consultations 457 drop-in business inquiries, 63 seminars and/or workshops and 233 business registrations.
