Multiple Juno award-winner Serena Ryder is the headliner at this June's Vaughan mayor’s gala.

Ms Ryder, perhaps best known for 2013’s multi-platinum hit, Stompa, is up for numerous Juno awards March 30. She’ll headline the gala and also co-host the event at the Paramount Conference and Event Venue June 24.

The mayor’s gala raises hundreds of thousands of dollars annually for various youth, seniors, special needs and other groups throughout Vaughan.

Over the last few years, it also raised funds for the Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital.

“We are excited to be embarking on the next chapter of Vaughan’s transformation," Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua said. "Our city has a great history and now we are putting pen to paper to write the next chapter of our evolution. The mayor’s gala will celebrate our story and show how we are building on our success to create an exciting and dynamic city for the future."
