Community Living Aurora/Newmarket paying tribute to Fisch

Community Living Newmarket/Aurora District will pay tribute to retiring York Region chairperson Bill Fisch at its 12th annual community tribute dinner April 24.
During the dinner, Mr. Fisch will be recognized as the recipient of the 2014 Community Service Award intended to honour excellence in this area.
In addition to Mr. Fisch, honourary patrons Aurora Mayor Geoffrey Dawe, East Gwillimbury Mayor Virginia Hackson and Newmarket Mayor Tony Van Bynen will also be in attendance as will tribute dinner co-chairs Tom Taylor, a former Newmarket mayor, and York Region CAO Bruce Macgregor.
Community Living Newmarket/Aurora District is a non-profit, charitable organization which supports people living with an intellectual disability. The annual tribute dinner is meant to celebrate people who promote the organization’s vision of “a community where everyone belongs”.
Past honourees include Peter Miller, the late Ernie Crossland, former police chief Armand La Barge, Steve Hinder, Jackie Playter and many other local leaders. Last year, the dinner was held in honour of community volunteer and business owner Jim Alexander.
