The Walk for Wellness raised some healthy proceeds this year.
Community & Home Assistance to Seniors announced more than $30,000 was earned through the 2014 walk.
Proceeds will benefit the 7,600 CHATS clients in York Region and southern Simcoe County.
A community partnership program was introduced for this year's walk, giving other non-profit organizations an opportunity to enter a team in the event.
Those teams - Big Brothers Big Sisters of York, Women’s Centre of York Region, Aurora Historical Society and Yellow Brick House - took 50 per cent of their pledges raised back to their organizations.
Suzanne Whitehurst also won a round trip for two, courtesy of West Jet, through the event raffle.
York Region Media Group was the media sponsor for this event.
