Candidates debate Thursday

Exactly one week before the byelection in Thornhill (Feb. 13), residents living in the riding of will get a chance to hear from the candidates all in one place.
CAA South Central Ontario (CAA SCO) is hosting a candidates debate this Thursday, Feb. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Le Parc Conference and Banquet Hall in Thornhill.
The community is invited to come out to learn more about each candidate before deciding who will represent the riding as the Member of Provincial Parliament at Queen’s Park.
Liberal candidate Sandra Yeung Racco, Progressive Conservative candidate Gila Martow, New Democratic Party candidate Cindy Hackelberg and Green Party candidate Teresa Pun are slated to take part in the two-hour debate. The debate will focus on issues that are central to the election – including transportation and infrastructure, health care and education. Alan Carter, Queen’s Park Bureau Chief and host of Focus Ontario for Global TV will be the moderator for the debate.
Candidates will also be asked to answer questions from the public. To submit a question for review, please email gr@caasco.ca.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and seating will be on a first come first serve basis. Come out to learn more about each candidate before deciding which one will represent Thornhill at Queen’s Park.
The debate will take place this Thursday, Feb. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Le Parc Conference and Banquet Hall (Ballroom 3) at 8432 Leslie Street (at the south west corner Leslie and Highway 7) in Thornhill.
