DANI Fundraiser for Special Needs Adults

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua was the guest of honour at the DANI Fundraiser for Special Needs Adults on January 19th. DANI (Developing and Nurturing Independence) held a silent auction and dinner celebration to thank Mayor Bevilacqua for all of his support towards adults living with special needs. The special event was held at the Terrace Banquet Centre. Other special guests who attended this event included Deputy Mayor, Gino Rosati, Regional Councillor, Alan Shefman and Esq., Mr. Charles Harary. Friedman then presented Mayor Bevilacqua with the award. Proceeds from this event will be donated to DANI to support the special needs adults looking for employment and independence. Founded in 2006, DANI started off as an action group for parents of children with special needs and soon became a not-for-profit organization. It has been DANI’s mission is to create more opportunities for adults with special needs in terms of employment, training and education.
