Three people were taken hospital after a two-alarm fire broke out in a Woodbridge house Sunday afternoon.
Two people are being treated for smoke inhalation. The third was taken to hospital for an unrelated heart condition.
The injuries appear to be minor at this time, according to Vaughan fire chief Larry Bentley.
This is the fourth working structure fire in the city of Vaughan in the past week.
“We’ve been extremely busy this week,” said Bentley. “That’s somewhat troubling to me as the fire chief in this community that we’ve had that many fires in the last seven days.”
Damage to the house at 48 Coronation St. is extensive, according to the Vaughan fire department. Portions of the second and main floor have collapsed.
“It was bad. There was so much smoke you could see it from my house. I live a street over,” neighbour Gerald Deonandan told CityNews.
“When I came over there was a lot of smoke coming out of the house, a lot of heat.”
