The Tony Award winning musical Urinetown is being performed this week by a talented cast of young actors at the Vaughan City Playhouse in Thornhill.
Urinetown is a witty and humourous satirical comedy. This production is by City Youth Players and features performers from the Thornhill area who have been rehearsing since October.
Urinetown is story of greed, corruption, love and revolution.
The citizens of a town must use public amenities regulated by a company that profits by charging them admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs.
A hero within the city has had enough and plans a revolution to lead the citizens to freedom.
The musical starts Friday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. and runs to March 2. A student matinee performance will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The theatre is located at 1000 New Westminster Dr. at the corner of Bathurst Street.
Ticket prices are $22 to $26 each.
