King-Vaughan federal Conservative nominee steps down from National Council of Italian Canadians

Michael Tibollo, the Vaughan resident who is seeking the federal Conservative Party nomination in the new riding of King-Vaughan for the 2015 federal election, has stepped down as president of the National Council of Italian Canadians.
Mr. Tibollo told the council executive he was taking the measure in accordance with the council’s constitution.
In a press release from the council, Toronto District president Fabio Gesufatto said: “It has been an honour working with Michael Tibollo on behalf of the NCIC Toronto District and we wish him every success in his endeavour. I am sure his passion and commitment to our Italian heritage and culture as well as his strong commitment to building a better Canada will continue to make us proud Canadians of Italian heritage".
The release added that Mr. Tibollo lobbied for passage of the Italian Heritage Month Act in 2010 and hosted a dinner for the prime minsters of Canada and Italy.
Michael Tibollo is slated to officially announce his candidacy tonight at West River Event Centre, 2839 Rutherford Rd., in Concord starting at 7 p.m.
