Woodbridge lawyer seeks to run for Conservatives in new King-Vaughan riding

A local lawyer is hoping to carry the Conservative banner in the new riding of King-Vaughan during next year’s federal election.

Michael Tibollo is slated to officially announce his candidacy tomorrow at West River Event Centre, 2839 Rutherford Rd., in Concord starting at 7 p.m.

Mr. Tibollo is a well-known fixture in the community due, in part, to his role as president of the National Congress of Italian Canadian and as founder of The Festival of Light.

He also heads up a team of lawyers at his firm Tibollo & Associates in Woodbridge.

Vaughan Conservative MP Julian Fantino, who has appeared alongside Mr. Tibollo at numerous events recently, is scheduled to speak at Friday’s announcement.

A nomination meeting is expected to be held in late May or early June.

The federal election takes place Oct. 19, 2015.
