GTA OMB NEWS: Hearing set for Vaughan apartments

In a decision issued February 6, board member Sylvia Sutherland set a 15-day hearing starting March 18 for appeals by Casertano Development Corporation and Sandra Mammone of the City of Vaughan’s failure to enact official plan and zoning by-law amendments.

Casertano applied to redesignate its property at 9060 Jane Street from general commercial to high density residential/commercial and rezone it from restricted commercial to apartment residential. It seeks permission to develop six residential apartments from 26 to 40 storeys with 2,050 units and two two-storey office/commercial buildings.

Mammone applied to redesignate her site at 8940 Jane Street from general commercial to high-density residential/commercial and rezone lands from prestige and general employment area to apartment residential zone. She wishes to construct six residential apartments from 25 to 35 storeys with 1,600 units and two two-storey offi ce/commercial buildings.
