Vaughan, Ontario-based Progressive Waste Solutions has posted a net income of $36.2 million versus $11.8 million in the fourth quarters of 2013 and 2012, respectively.
The waste and recycling company saw a revenue increase of $6.2 million or 1.2 per cent from $495.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2012 to $502 million in the fourth quarter of 2013.
Progressive’s operating income was $58.3 million in the fourth quarter of 2013 versus $58.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2012. Net income was $36.2 million versus $11.8 million in the fourth quarters of 2013 and 2012, respectively.
"With our fourth-quarter results, we achieved a solid finish to the year, in line with or better than our expectations,” said Joseph Quarin, president and CEO of Progressive Waste Solutions Ltd., in a statement to media.
