Details about the next installment of the Vaughan Film Festival are slated to be unveiled later this week.
A media launch is scheduled for Thursday (Nov. 6) at Vaughan city hall, 2141 Major Mackenzie Dr., featuring CBC News anchor Suhana Meharchand.
Organizers will announce the date for the third annual event as well as cast the spotlight on the Talking Film Campaign, year-round student initiatives and highlights from last year's festival.
The event, which is open to the public and includes hors d'oeuvres and refreshments, gets under way at 7 p.m.
Attendees will get a chance to win a pair of tickets for the Vaughan Film Festival (VFF) awards show at the Paramount Conference & Event Venue.
Those who bring a non-perishable food item for the Vaughan food bank will be entered in a draw for a pair of screening tickets.
The Vaughan Film Festival is a four-day event showcasing Canadian and international multi-genre, short films.
In addition, the festival also provides aspiring filmmakers and actors with opportunities to gain insight into the film industry through seminars.
VFF also supports the arts community by granting various scholarships and bursaries to young filmmakers, art students and educational institutions in Vaughan.
