Your opinion could be invaluable in the fight against homelessness.
Do you have the time and perspective to attend a focus group on how to remedy York Region’s growing homelessness issue Nov. 5?
If so, you are invited to share your ideas during an information gathering session, 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Sharon Temple Temperance Hall, 18974 Leslie Street, Sharon, East Gwillimbury.
The event is part of United Way York Region’s Tackling Homelessness initiative.
The agency wants your input on the gaps and needs in York Region for addressing the issue of homelessness, what we need to do to meet those needs and if the purpose and work of the local planning and organizing body address the gaps and solutions you identified.
As part of the federally funded homelessness partnering strategy, United Way works with the Regional Municipality of York and other partners to address the increasingly complex issue in our region. During United Way Week in October, the agency and its partners launched new work that includes convening a local planning and organizing body, which engages community stakeholders and residents to help prevent, reduce and end homelessness in our communities.
