The GTA’s next 400-series highway will cut a swath across north Vaughan and the province’s transportation ministry wants to pick your brain about its plans for the major roadway.

To that end, a public information session is being held Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Venetian Salon Chateau Le Jardin Conference Centre, 8440 Hwy. 27.

The focus for this meeting is on the long and short list of route alternatives, potential interchange locations, crossing road treatments and goods movement priority features.

The meeting is part of stage two of the environmental assessment (EA) study being carried out for the so-called GTA West Transportation Corridor.

The highway is slated to stretch from Hwy. 400, between Kirby Road and King Road, west to Halton Region.

The next stage will identify the route, determine interchange locations and complete the preliminary design for a new transportation corridor, which will include a 400-series highway, transit way and “potential goods movement priority features.”
