Construction work to pave the way for the future Vaughan hospital could prove to be a pain in the neck for local motorists.

The city is installing infrastructure for a new intersection, medians and storm sewers along Major Mackenzie Drive at Hwy. 400.

That work will result in lane restrictions in the heavily travelled area until Dec. 19.

Motorists are being advised to expect temporary delays along this stretch.

The work is being undertaken to prepare the 82-acre city-owned property, known as the Vaughan Healthcare Precinct site, for the future Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital, which is expected to open in 2019.
