If you want to get a jump on voting in the upcoming provincial Thornhill byelection, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 13, you have plenty of opportunity to do so.
All residents of the riding, as long as they are 18 or older by Feb. 13 and Canadian citizens, can vote. You’ll have to bring a piece of identification and notice of registration card when you go to vote. Acceptable ID includes a driver’s licence and/or passport.
You can vote early by special ballot at the returning office until this Saturday, open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Thornhill Returning Office is at 14 Connie Cres., unit 11, Concord.
From Saturday on, you can vote in advance polls at the following locations from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- The returning office from Sunday, Feb. 2 to Friday, Feb. 7;
- Dufferin Clark Community Centre, 1441 Clark Ave. W., Thornhill, Feb. 1-6;
- Garnet A. Williams Community Centre, 501 Clark Ave. W., Thornhill, Feb. 2-7;
- Thornhill Community Centre, 7755 Bayview Ave., Thornhill, Feb. 1-6.
You can then vote in person at the returning office on the following days and at the following hours:
- Saturday, Feb. 8, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.;
- Sunday, Feb. 9. noon to 5 p.m.;
- Tuesday, Feb.10 to p.m.;
- Wednesday, Feb. noon to 6 p.m.
On election day, Feb. 13, polls are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
