The Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is the most celebrated festival by Chinese communities around the world. It is a time when families gather together to celebrate the beginning of a new year with great food, gifts and fireworks.
Join Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) as they welcome the Year of the Horse with exciting stories and fun rhymes the whole family can enjoy.
VPL invites everyone to attend the Vellore Village Community Centre for a family story time in Chinese. Don’t miss this great program where you and your children can enjoy captivating stories, songs and activities in Chinese.
Family Storytime in Chinese will be held at Vellore Village Community Centre located at 1 Villa Royale Ave. in Vaughan on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 3:30 p.m.
VPL hosts a large collection of materials in Chinese including books, magazines, newspapers and DVDs. Drop by your local library or visit the online catalogue to see what they have for you.
Lunar New Year Storytime will take place at Pierre Berton Resource Library (4921 Rutherford Road in Woodbridge) on Monday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m., at the Woodbridge Library (150 Woodbridge Avenue) on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 10:30 a.m. and at Dufferin Clark Library (1441 Clark Avenue West in Thornhill) on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m.
